The elephants are from a centre in Kuala Gandah

In the video, the elephant can be seen waving its trunk from left to right, as if it were trying its best to dance, while a woman instructed the elephants to do so.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Nik Aidil shared how she’s currently staying in Kelantan and that she 1st got to know about these wild elephants in early 2018 at a National Elephant Conservation Centre.

“I got to know these elephants when my husband was working as the district officer in Jeli district. It so happened that the Wildlife Department informed my husband about wild elephants entering the village, so the Jeli Wildlife Department sought assistance from my husband as the district officer there.”

“I find joy in connecting with the elephants”

Nik Aidil shared that despite not working at the centre, she frequently visits the elephants there simply out of her deep love for elephants.

“Some of these wild elephants enjoy dancing when they’re happy. It may have been by chance that I started showing them to mimic my hand movements, and since then, they’ve learned to do it whenever someone tells them to,” she added.

She also revealed that each elephant at the centre has its own unique personality and characteristics, which she has come to appreciate and love equally.

“My husband invited me to see the wild elephant relocation operation because he knew I was interested in wildlife. From there, I got to know and became close with these wild elephants.”
