Distance can be tricky when it comes to relationships, especially when your partner is far from you. We’re not talking about KL to Seremban kind of distance but it’s when you’re isolated by an ocean.
A 34-year-old Malaysian man who works offshore recently was hit by triple bad luck, in which he felt indescribable pain as told via an anonymous tweet shared by @meingl.
Parents and the love of his life gone
Back in January this year, his mum passed away. A month later, his dad passed away. It killed him inside because he couldn’t see his parents for the one last time as he was working offshore. His ship was headed to Portugal and when he was still reeling from the major loss, little did he know, there was another loss incoming.

“My neighbor texted me and told me that my wife has been bringing another man home.”
With work and grief at the same time, there was just too much on his plate.
He initially shrugged off the suspicion but not after months later when his neighbor sent videos and pictures of his wife and another man.
“I saw him holding my wife’s hand while leaving my house.”
His heart which shattered after the death of his parents broke into millions of pieces again.

Despite the abundance of work at hand, he made his way back to Malaysia and booked another ticket to Portugal for the same night. He didn’t intend to stay long.
He just wanted to confront the cheating wife and the stranger.
With the company of his neighbor, the man waited for the wife and the 3rd party to come out of the house.
“Assalaamualaikum (peace be upon you), who are you and why are you in my house?!” he screamed.
The stranger admitted that he had been with her for 4 months, including the time when his parents passed away.
“They did more than just kissing.”
When he confronted his wife, the excuse of loneliness was thrown at him.
“She told me she was bored and lonely, but she has always known about the nature of my job when she chose to be with me.”

The man then left home and headed back to Portugal for work, while mending his broken heart. His wife tried to contact him to apologise but he ignored her calls.
It’s never easy to deal with a failed relationship and marriage. With 3 losses that the man has to grief, we hope time will heal him.
