Passion for fashion!

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, @nisharaspberries, a full-time surgical resident and part-time model with a love for fashion, described the magical event as a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Born and raised in Seremban, she earned a government scholarship by scoring 12As in SPM and pursued her medical studies at the University of Malaysia Sarawak.

After successfully completing her MRCS at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, she is now a plastic surgery resident at one of the top hospitals in Europe, located in Dublin.

“It’s a big opportunity, and I couldn’t be more grateful”

Dr. Nisha Thayananthan continued to share her experience of attending the prestigious event on May 18. She walked the red carpet, looking stunning in a mermaid-inspired gown beautifully designed by Vietnamese designer Nguyen Minh Tuan and the team at Minh Tuan Couture.

The gown featured exquisite details such as sparkling crystals, Swarovski stones, pearls, and shimmering gemstones.

“Watching movies with Oscar winners was the most memorable experience, and I got to watch ‘Rumours’ with Cate Blanchett.”

She attended the event for 2 consecutive years, and as Miss Earth 2021, she has walked several runways across Europe, with her most recent appearance at London Fashion Week 2024.

“My favourite part is meeting people from diverse backgrounds. It’s given me invaluable knowledge in both the medical and business fields. I’m aspiring to become a plastic surgeon and currently working on starting my own aesthetic center in Europe, so these connections are super important for my growth,” she added.

“I dedicate my heart and soul to achieving it”

Dr. Nisha Thayananthan mentioned that balancing her profession and modeling career requires a strong mindset. She tackles tasks immediately and avoids procrastination.

“If you want to explore a new passion, just go for it. Your biggest enemy is worrying about what others think. Believe in yourself. You decide what you’re capable of, not others. Show the world you’re a leader and break free from limiting mindsets.”

She hopes to join Miss Universe Malaysia someday, seeing it as a beautiful platform for women involved in both fashion and professional careers.

“It would give me a voice to encourage more women to venture into fields they like without hesitation.”
