Despite being behind bars, former Prime Minister, Najib Razak is still being talked about, especially his contributions to the country, be it major or minor.

Just yesterday, on his Facebook account, UMNO Youth Chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh urged the government to bring back Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia, sometimes known as KR1M. In case you are not aware, KR1M was established by Najib Razak all the way back in 2011.

In his post, Akmal pointed out that for the establishment of KR1M was once criticised by many Malaysians before they eventually realised that it has always been the best store for Malaysians. KR1M was not only known for promoting the products of local small and medium enterprises but also for its low prices which helped reduce the burden of the low-income groups.

“In the past, people insulted the development of this shop (KR1M). Now, people have realised that it has always been the best store for Malaysians,” Akmal said.

The UMNO Youth Chief suggested the unity government re-establish KR1M, which is dedicated to serving Malaysian citizens only. Akmal thanked Najib Razak for the contribution and even included a “#RinduZamanNajib” at the end of his FB post.

KR1M outlets in Malaysia, however, were gradually closed in 2017.

In the “season” of increased prices of goods, do you think it’s high time for KR1M to make a comeback?
