It’s always fun and exciting to go on a trip until something unwanted happens. For a family who recently travelled from Pahang to Puchong, the excitement was cut short when their Toyota 4X4 Hilux disappeared into thin air.

In a Facebook post, a Malaysian, Weiwei Lee said that her family departed from Pahang at midnight and reached their Airbnb in Puchong around 1 am. After the registration, the family took whatever necessary from the car, which was parked at the basement and went into their room.

“A guard came around and looked at us, but I didn’t think much about it.”

“Is your car still with you?”

Around 7 in the morning, Lee’s husband got a call from Toyota, who asked him if the Hilux was still with him, and told him that the battery may have been removed.

Lee and her husband immediately went down to the basement and to their surprise, the Hilux has gone missing. The discovery left the family baffled – how could the thief left when an access card is needed to leave the premise?

Without delaying the matter, Lee immediately sought help from the security and management department of the building, which she claimed to be unhelpful.

“The CCTV at the basement isn’t working”

After explaining their situation to the management of the building, Lee requested for the CCTV footage but was denied.

“The PIC is not here yet,” one of the staff told Lee.

She then continued to lodge a police report and the matter was delayed until 9am, when the PIC finally arrived. Lee was asked to wait outside the office before she was told that the CCTV camera at the basement is not working.

“The CCTV cameras at the basement and the exit area were not working. What a coincidence!”

The guards at the place told her that they did not see or hear any suspicious activities.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Lee said that the Hilux has yet to be found.

“I honestly doubt we can find it, and it’s hard for me to accept this,” Lee said disappointingly.

Lee also expressed her dissatisfaction about registering with the security for the access to the basement parking but eventually ended up having the car stolen.

To those who have rented a place for vacation, have you encountered such a similar experience?
