If you’re living or working in and around Klang Valley, you may have noticed that the airspace has gotten slightly busier lately.

Not only are there more military jets flying around, but these aircraft are also flying lower than usual.

Well, if you’re worried about this, worry not as it’s all just a preparation by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) for the 2023 Trooping the Colours ceremony this Saturday (10 June).

In a statement, RMAF asserted that the upcoming ceremony is in conjunction with the birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Accordingly, from yesterday until 10 June, the public would be seeing more military aircraft flying low in several areas around Klang Valley, especially in Putrajaya as the ceremony would take place in Putrajaya’s Dataran Pahlawan Negara.

The ceremony would involve a fly-past of several helicopters from the Malaysian Army, Royal Malaysian Navy and of course, the RMAF at the venue.

In relation to that, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has announced that there will be a ban on flying drones in Putrajaya from now until the ceremony on 10 June.

The ban is to avoid any unwanted incidents as flying drones in the airspace would interfere with the aircraft’s preparation, especially with helicopters.

So, are you excited about the 2023 Trooping the Colour ceremony in Putrajaya? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
