PDRM in Seberang Perai Utara, Penang has since responded to the matter that took place on Wednesday morning (May 31), and confirmed that the men who took away the victims car were hired by loan sharks. However, it was not the victim who borrowed money from them.

It was his mother, who borrowed RM100,000 from the loan sharks back in 2020.

In the video, 2 men are seen forcefully pulling the victim out of his Perodua Axia at a traffic light before 1 of them drove it away, which almost injured an elderly on a bicycle.

The other suspects flee the scene in a red Proton Wira and a dark blue Proton Saga. The victim then sought help from the public before a few men on bikes tried to chase the man who stole the car. In a statement, the police said the victim’s mother made a written agreement with the loan sharks about the consequences if she fails to pay her debt.

“The victim’s mother agreed to hand over her car to the loan sharks if the debts are not paid.”

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the police to locate the perpetrators.

PDRM also said that there were 3 suspects at the scene, who have been apprehended yesterday (June 1). All suspects, aged between 27 and 49 were under the influence of drugs when they were caught, and they are currently being investigated under Section 395 Penal Code. If found guilty, the suspects may face up to 20 years of jail time.

You can watch the viral clip below.

Borrowing money from loan sharks may solve your problems but it’s only temporary before the consequences follow, especially if you fail to settle the debts. We hope the family can brace through the tough times.
