For people working during a kenduri or huge gatherings where elbow grease is needed, the thought of scrubbing cups, plates, cutleries, pots and pans, is a chore that isn’t relaxing.

Taking a leaf out of history, this group of volunteers, has a unique way of making this chore easy-peasy lemon-squeezy.

At washing time, all they used to initially clean the plates is by using sand or soil instead of soap on the plates and it does work!

It’s an amazing process and it gets the plates clean.

In the video, the volunteers are seen smothering the plates with soil, before moving on the the next cleaning station for a simple soap and rinse process.

In the caption this netizen writes: “This is a first for me. It works. It is easier this way.”

According to one netizen, this was how they did it in the old days.

“Back then, this was how they washed plates. The would use saw dust. Here is a picture I have from the 60s/70s when my grandmother had her own wedding ceremony.”
