Disagreements with children are harder when they get to a certain age where they can act on their impulsive thoughts.

Recently, an 11-year-old boy in Hangzhou, China got into an argument with his mother. Instead of fuming and slamming the door, he decided to take a more extreme step, which is to go to his grandmother’s house and complain to her.

For illustration purposes only.

This would have been fine if they lived in the same neighbourhood, but it turns out that the boy’s grandma is a good 140 km away!

The fact did not deter him, so he jumped onto his trusty bicycle and started his journey.

On the evening of 2 April, concerned passersby found the boy exhausted in a highway tunnel and called the police, reported SBS.

The authorities put him in the patrol car and brought him to safety before asking him what had happened.

The boy then said that he had been cycling for almost 22 hours, travelling 130km to his grandmother’s house. During the journey, he followed the road signs but took some wrong turns.

He took breaks in between by eating bread and drinking water that he brought from home. When he was found by the police, he was just an hour away from his grandma’s house.

At about 9pm on the same day, his parents and grandmother reached the police station and picked him up.

The mother said that the boy did threaten to go to his grandmother’s place but she thought that he was just throwing a tantrum.

Well, kids nowadays are really smart. Parents and guardians alike should keep an eye on them in case they take any extreme measures. Be it as it may, the most important thing might be listening and acknowledging their feelings.
