As millennials, we all probably grew up playing SEGA, Tamagotchis, Gameboys and who can forget the good old Tetris machines? Ah, good times! If you’re feeling nostalgic, then we have good news for you.

That’s because SEGA has announced that they are releasing SEGA Forever, which will bring every SEGA game ever made to both iOS and Android devices. The best part is it will be FREE! Yes, we’re not joking!
According to Inquisitr, SEGA Forever is set to launch this week and is even playable offline! Among the list of games to be released are titles such as Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon, Phantasy Star II, and Sonic The Hedgehog. Don’t worry, these games will also include modern features such as cloud saves, online leaderboards, and Bluetooth controller support. We checked and these games are available for download!

What’s more, SEGA is set to release a new game every fortnight to ensure that users won’t get bored with the games. They will continue to do so until every title from SG-1000 through to the Dreamcast is incorporated.
Chief Marketing Officer Mike Evans explains the reason they are doing so, “Weâve never before done something that really crosses all of the different gaming eras, and isnât prejudice against someone because they grew up in the â80s versus the â90s. And so what weâre trying to do is look at how we can take content that spans two decades and make it all available in the same place.”

However, these games were first and foremost designed to work on a physical controller so the touchscreen experience on your mobile device may not be exactly as you remember. Don’t fret, because Evans says that they are fine-tuning this and if you want the authentic experience, you can buy a cheap Bluetooth controller to even play on your TV. Time to feel nostalgic again!
The SEGA team has remained faithful to the original and has not added any extra difficulty levels or aids. “We havenât gone in and changed the original ROM itself, weâve kept them as faithful emulations. Which was important in making this project work commercially,” Evans explains.

Of course, there are some short non-intrusive adverts before game play but that’s a small price to pay to feel like a kid again! If you really hate the ads, there is reportedly an option to pay £1.99 (RM10.85) for each game to remove the ads.
