We’re well aware that smoking kills, but we’re probably not talking that much about the harmful effects of e-cigarettes.

A Malaysian, Chris, whose family member is suffering the consequences of vaping shared the experience on her Facebook account in June last year. The post, however, is now circulating again on social media. If you’re a heavy vaper, you might want to read this and consider the effects.

“If you have vaped for more than 2 months, get your lungs checked!”

Chris mentioned that her doctor once said that if one has vaped for more than 2 months, there’s a high chance that your lung has been damaged. Her family member, who Chris did not name, vaped for 2 years before he suffered lung damage.

Fortunately, it was not too late for him to save himself. However, it came with a cost.

“The damaged areas of his lung had to be removed via surgery. His right lung is smaller than the left now”, Chris said.

Not only that but he also cannot be exposed to secondary smoke. Chris also mentioned that at the time of posting, the family member has also gradually recovered.

It can happen to you too!

Chris also said that she’s aware that many vapers may ignore her warning, and believe that they may never fall victim to such illness caused by vaping.

“My family member had the same mindset, until he saw his uncle suffering the consequences of vaping, and eventually decided to go for a checkup.”

She then continued,

“He allowed me to write a post about his condition and spread the awareness to others.”

Chris ended her post by reminding fellow vapers out there to think about the consequences and not to do something that will harm themselves and others.

If you find yourself inseparable from your e-cigarettes, perhaps it’s time to sit back and reflect on the possible consequences.
