American Group Who Also Broke In & Climbed Merdeka 118 Arrested & Charged

PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Berhad (PMVSB) has shared that the group of men who invaded Menara Merdeka 118, as showcased in a YouTube video recently have been arrested by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and have also been charged.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) said the incident actually took place on May 1, 2022, and all intruder were charged under Section 457 of the Penal Code on the same day.

“We would like to emphasise that this action is illegal and dangerous, thereby risking the safety of the intruders as well as the workers at the construction site,”

“Therefore, we condemn all illegal acts done at this construction site to benefit from illegal commercial gains and popularity,” they informed.

It was previously reported that YouTube content creator, Driftershoots, and his friends had broken into and illegally climbed Menara Merdeka 118. His video was uploaded to the platform on December 30 (Friday).
