Hate waiting for your parcels after online shopping? Well, for some of you, you may be waiting a while as it appears that a courier warehouse is experiencing troubles retaining their staff members.

One person recalled their experience after heading to the courier warehouse in Kamunting, Perak, to pick up their parcel, only to have to head into the warehouse to search for it themselves.

In a post shared by the Taiping Zone Facebook page, the person shared that the reason why they had to search for their parcel themselves was because the courier warehouse was severely understaffed.

They shared the reasons as to why the courier service could not retain their employees.

“Many of these centers are managed by agents, and not the headquarters. When the staff works with the agents, many commission rules pressure staff members to a point where these terms and conditions can make staff members work without pay,”

“Among the conditions that I found out earlier, each runner here must deliver no less than 50 parcels (a day) with a low wage. If it comes to less than 50 parcels, it is not only not counted as a delivery but the agent will also deem the staff to be not present even though they had sent 40 parcels on the day,” they explained, adding that disappointed staff members end up quitting their jobs.

The person then showcased images of the warehouse as they went looking for their parcel themselves.

“In these few pictures, I had to go and look for my parcel. Thankfully, there were some kind runners who helped me look. My parcel was found and my problem was solved,”

“Have you received your parcels yet? If not yet, come search for it yourself,” they added.

They also shared that people should not show their anger of having to wait long at runners as they are stressed of having to deal with the pressure of these agents.
