Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor (MDKS) recently started a campaign called the ‘Rat control Campaign 2021’ to reward citizens with monetary compensation for capturing rats and surrendering these rodents to the authorities.

In a Facebook post by MDKS, it was said that the campaign will run until 30 November 2021 and authorities are offering citizens RM3 per captured rat. Payment will be made once the rodents are surrendered to authorities, “dead or alive.” Citizens can submit the captured rats to authorities from Monday to Friday.

For more information about the service, interested citizens are advised to contact Cik Suzanna following the details provided below:

Since the posting went up, netizens have flooded the comment section with various hilarious responses.

Many users requested for the campaign to be held in their states too.

“Hope the rats in Selangor will be less, but you can be rich if you catch the rats in KL. Can we catch rats in KL and send it to Selangor?”

“We should have this in Sabah…there are so many rats here!”

One netizen said it’s a trap to get people to go outside when they should really be staying at home during the MCO.

“It’s a trap! After this, they will catch everyone who is going out to find rats and fine them RM1,000.”

What do you guys think of this? Let us know in the comments!
