Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob urged all Malaysians to not flout SOP during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) or risk facing punishment.

“We are now in the RMCO where the rules have been loosened and we are free to go out at any time.”

“Regardless of what stage of the Movement Control Order (MCO) we are in, we still need to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) under Act 342 or face legal action.”

Though reminders have been announced on various media, Ismail Sabri says that there are still daily cases of people still breaking the rules.

Mentioning that everyone must play a part to break the Covid-19 transmission chain, he reminded the public to take care of their health, their families and the society.

“Global Covid-19 positive figures are also on the rise. As of now, there are 39.9 million cases nationwide with a total of 1.1 million deaths expected soon.”

As of today (18 October 2020), there are 871 new positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as reported by Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. The total number of confirmed cases has increased to 20,498 cases.

Let’s all do our part people. We may not see it now, but adhering to the SOP may just help us get out of the RMCO and resume normal life soon.
