Molesting someone regardless of their gender is a sex offence, period.
On the morning of 24 February, a 31-year-old policewoman went to a food court at Lembah Keramat Taman Melawati to buy some food.
She was picking out her food when she felt someone molest her from behind.
The policewoman confronted him but the 58-year-old taxi driver said that he did not molest her and that the place was packed.
The suspect then went and sat down at a table in the food court.
The Ampang Jaya District Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak told Harian Metro that the victim went to report the incident to the authorities.
The police then immediately took action by detaining the suspect.
“This case will be investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code that provides an imprisonment for up to 10 years, or with fine, or with whipping, or with any two of the punishments, if found guilty.”
We hope that justice will be served and that the victim is doing alright.
