You know this place will deliver when the founder of The Fat Fish is passionate about seafood. So it’s no wonder The Fat Fish has been gaining quite a handsome reputation over their supply of fresh seafood and fresh cut meats. Sure, they do eels, oysters, cod fish and scallops but their salmon takes home the prize, with a packet of buttery salmon sashimi at Rm18 onwards.

Their Barachirashi Don (RM25) is a delectable mix of salmon paired well with octopus, cucumber, negitoro, ebikko and other fresh fishery catches of the day, all plonked down on a bowl of steaming Japanese rice. (Pssst they also do an awesome Garlic Cream with Smoked Salmon for RM25!)

Location: No. 15-05 Shoplex Mont’ Kiara, Mont Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur.

Opening Hours: 11.30am-10pm Tue to Sun, Closed on Mondays

This cosy corner in Publika may be renowned for their oysters (check out their name), but their flair and skill at preparing seafood doesn’t stop short at oysters! Their menu is heaped with fuss-free sea food dishes to bring out the best. Check out their Ocean Salmon Trout at RM25, beautifully minimal garnished with pepper with a side of lemons, butter and bread to pair with. Quality truly does trump quantity here at Shucked.

But don’t forget to get a bite out of their oysters! Can’t come to a place famed for their oysters without trying! Fresh oysters are picked up daily (and prices change accordingly), with rustic little signs stating where they were flown from.
