According to a report by Sinar Harian, Ampang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam shared that a complainant, a 49-year-old man who was on duty as a member of the Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA), heard a commotion at an eatery within the compound of the house of worship.

“The complainant then went to the location and found the man, believed to be drunk, talking and mumbling to himself,”

“The complainant advised the man to leave and not make noise in the area of the house of worship. However, the suspect pushed the item in which joss sticks are burned, causing the joss stick ashes to scatter,” he said.

The complainant then proceeded to detain the man before contacting the police for further action.

“A team of officers from the Ampang Police Station arrived at the location at 9:20 AM and detained the 35-year-old suspect, who was handed over by the complainant. The results of a check found that the suspect has 8 previous records related to drug offences,” he added.
