I’m so hungry that I can eat a horse! Or at least, that’s how the saying goes. But eating such a large quantity of food is not actually good for our health, nor is it remotely possible to do so. The hyperbolic adage simply means that the person is just that damn hungry.
However, a man in a recent case in Penang went way further than eating a horse. Instead, he burned down his home as a way to express his dissatisfaction to being famished. Wow, what a way to throw a tantrum.
According to The Star, the 34-year-old man had reportedly had set his house on fire at Kampung Selamat yesterday (22nd July). It was said that the man flew into a fit of rage after finding out that there was no food to eat as he was hungry.

Luckily, the suspect’s 63-year-old father managed to put out the flames before the fire started to spread and then called the police.
Seberang Perai Utara police chief, ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor, stated, “Police had arrested the suspect who was still at home and in the compound and found a rubber hose with burn marks and a jug with traces of petrol, all believed used to set the house alight in the 4pm incident.”
It is believed that the 34-year-old man had thrown siphoned petrol from his father’s motorbike all over a wall on the front portion of the house and started the fire with a lighter.

“His mother noticed what he was doing and woke her husband up from his nap in time to put out the fire,” added Noorzaini. He also said that there have been two police reports made by the suspect’s parents, who became scared of their son’s outbursts after he was released from prison.
“His urine test detected drugs, and he is now on remand for four days for an investigation under Section 435 of the penal code for mischief by fire,” stated Noorzainy.
