24yo Malaysian Arrested in Johor for Splashing Hot Oil on Girlfriend & Hitting Her with Phone Charger Cable

Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan, shared in a press conference that the police received a report on December 27 from the 29-year-old victim about an incident.

The victim shared that she was assaulted by her 24-year-old boyfriend around 3:30 PM on December 21 at a house in Bandar Selesa Jaya, Skudai.

They’ve been dating for a year

The boyfriend, whom she had been dating for a year, was arrested for attacking her by splashing hot oil on her and hitting her with a phone charging cable.

“Based on the information, the Criminal Investigation Division from Iskandar Puteri District Police Headquarters (IPD) arrested a 24-year-old local man. Background checks revealed he had 2 previous criminal records,” Kumarasan said.

A urine test found the suspect was positive for drugs, and he’s also believed to be a drug dealer.

Police found heroin and cannabis

Police seized a few items, including a mobile phone, a white charging cable, a black backpack, 2 clear plastic packets with suspected heroin (65.7 grams), and a packet of cannabis (15.9 grams).

The suspect was charged in the Johor Bahru Sessions Court on January 3 with three offences under Section 326 of the Penal Code, Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Section 6 of the same act.

The case will be mentioned again on March 4.
