Yesterday (12 April), a Form One student tragically lost her life, and another was injured after being hit by a vehicle that reportedly lost control at a school in Kelantan.
A video of the incident has since gone viral, showing one student trapped between the vehicle and a pillar; the student was seen to be moving at the time of the recording.

Student fatally struck by teacher’s vehicle
According to Berita Harian, Nur Fatimatul Hawa Mohd Azaudin was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Another student is currently receiving treatment after both were struck while putting on their shoes in front of the surau (prayer hall).
Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damiri, stated that the driver, a 57-year-old female teacher, is believed to have accidentally pressed the accelerator. This caused the vehicle to surge forward, hitting the two students before crashing into a concrete pillar.
“As a result of the collision, one student suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was sent to the Forensic Unit at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), Kubang Kerian, for a post-mortem. The other student sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the Red Zone at HRPZ II,” he said.

Mohd Azmir added that the driver did not suffer any injuries. The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
In a recent update by Harian Metro, the 57-year-old driver was brought to court earlier today (13 April) and is expected to be remanded at the Magistrate’s Court.
