Yuna is undoubtedly a very famous Malaysian who continuously makes the country proud.
With music streaming platforms putting out yearly statistics in the month of December, Yuna recently celebrated her stats by posting them on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Thank you for listening to my music this year❤️ It means a lot to me?? Let me know if I’m in your top 5 this year yaay ? @Spotify #spotifywrapped pic.twitter.com/9YBBfUiyzG

She has managed to garner more than 45 million streams on Spotify and on Apple Music, she managed to get 70 million streams in the US alone!
Along with the stats, she also shared how she was once rejected by a local label in the past.
According to her Instagram stories, when she was, 21-years-old, the criteria she set for her to sign with a local label is for them to push her English songs overseas. However, the label executive was very condescending towards her.
“No one will listen to your English music. Why would they want to listen to an English song by a Malaysian artist?”
In another Instagram story, she added, “people say the darndest things to kill your dreams at an early stage and your job is to ignore them.”
“I’m glad I have friends, family and fans who believed in me, especially those in Malaysia who told me to reach for the sky,” she wrote.
“I said ‘but I don’t have wings’ but they said ‘you’ll grow one’.”
Well, with the number of streams and how many countries Yuna’s music has reached, we can definitely say that the label exec had terrible foresight.
We are always supporting you and your music, Yuna! You go, girl!
