On the newest edition of viral Internet food items, we came across a viral photoset from Japan.
With a tweet that has blown up with 188,500 likes and 30,300 retweets, you would think that it is something nice. However, it might just be the stuff from our nightmares, especially for people who are terrified of cicak.

Twitter user Monoli posted the cicak konjac jelly on their page on 9 December and it has gone viral worldwide. The caption says that Monoli’s mother sent it to them and they proceeded to make a meal out of it.
You can always find konjac jelly (konnyaku) in Japanese oden. Konnyaku is usually made by mixing water, konjac flour and hijiki (brown sea plant). It results in a greyish, slightly-salted jelly that gives great texture!
Many people have found it squeamish and said: “Why would you make it that shape?!”
One cicak konjac jelly will set you back at about 216 yen (RM8.42) but you would need to order a minimum of three of them. However, we are not sure if they are able to deliver internationally as the jelly needs to be cooled constantly. According to their site, this konjac jelly is made in collaboration with high school students!
Ever since the tweet blew up, many people flooded the page with orders to the point that any orders made from here on out will only be fulfilled in about one to two months!
What do you think about this? Would you ever buy it as a prank? Let us know in the comments!
