Walking around at night is definitely a dangerous thing to do, especially when Malaysia isn’t exactly the safest place. Recently, a woman in Johor Bahru shared her terrible experience of getting robbed by fake policemen as she suffered serious injuries in the process too.
Apparently, she was at the bank quite late at night because she wanted to bank in money to someone but when she reached Maybank, she discovered that the ATM machines were not working. Having no choice, she proceeded to the Hong Leong Bank branch nearby to withdraw money.
On the way back to Maybank, to her surprise, she saw a white Perodua Myvi approach her. The car trained their headlights on her and they also had installed some flashing lights, which looked remarkably similar to lights on a police’s car.
Chinapress reported that there were three men in the car and when two of them got down, they told her that they were policemen and asked her to hand over her IC. The woman suspected something was amiss as they did not produce any valid identification documents and decided to call her brother for help. One of the men instructed the other to get her into the car but she resisted. So scary!
That was when all hell broke loose and they pushed her and kicked her until she fell into the drain nearby. The criminals snatched her mobile phone and purse, and escaped in the waiting car. As a result of the fall, she hit the back of her head on the side of the drain and sustained serious injuries that required 7 to 8 stitches.
She posted photos of her injuries and the police report on social media to warn the public of her incident and to remind them to always be careful.
Seems like it’s getting more and more dangerous these days! Stay safe, people!
