Although it is rare, there have been plenty of animal sightings on our highways and roads. Recently, road users of the East Coast Highway 2 (LPT 2) were shocked when a horse had escaped after the vehicle carrying it was involved in an accident yesterday (March 12).

Videos of the incident have since made its way online and gone viral. In the video, the wreckage of the vehicle transporting it was seen as the white horse was seen wandering and running along in the middle of the highway without direction.

In a report by Kosmo, it was said that the horse was eventually tamed and recaptured by its owner about an hour and a half later.

Kemaman District Police Chief, Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan said that the incident started when a Ford pickup vehicle carrying the horse was involved in an accident with a lorry.

He said, at the time of the incident, the pickup vehicle involved was on its way to bring the horse to Kuala Terengganu from Johor Bahru.

“The accident shocked the horse, which had then gone out and ran aimlessly on the highway. The two drivers involved, did not suffer any serious injuries“, he explained.

The taste of freedom

Videos of the horse running along on the highway have since gone viral on social media where netizens shared their thoughts in regards to the incident.

Some users made jokes about the situation whilst others complimented the horse and wished that it was doing well.

“That’s not a horse… that is Ferrari.”

“Going out without a Touch ‘n Go,” commented a user.
