During the past year, many heartwarming incidents took place, and one of our favourites was when the school security guard of SK Bandar Baru Putera in Ipoh went viral.

At first, it was said that the security guard, K. Kittu, affectionately known as Uncle Kittu, needed to move to a new workplace as he was shifting to the Klebang Restu area.

So, the school held a farewell for him, and in the video that had gone viral, he was seen being hugged and swarmed by crying students, which proves how well-loved he is.

However, the shift did not take place, and due to the letters that he had received from the students, Uncle Kittu decided to return to work at the school.

“(Before this) My son had also tugged at me, pleading ‘Dad, just go to work there (SK Bandar Baru Putera). The students also wrote things like ‘uncle don’t go’ and ‘uncle work here’.”

He continued, “I read the letter which got me teary-eyed, so I decided to go back and work there.”

Other than that, the school’s Parent-Teachers Association (PIBG) also voted for him to return to duty as a security guard there, reported BERNAMA.

“They called me to work here again. Some people said things were a bit haywire without me when their children want to cross the street after school because if I am there, I tell the kids to wait at the hut before I stop the traffic for them.”

On January 1, he decided to surprise the students by resuming his duty there, and many of them were elated. To make sure that they do not go through the same kind of emotions again, they made Uncle Kittu promise that he’ll stay with the school.

The security guard has also said that he will be continuing his job until retirement.

This is undoubtedly a lovely continuation of the story, and we hope that Uncle Kittu will be able to work at the same school till he retires.
