Following the circulation of the lorry rental service story, the company – Abang Lorry Logistics responded to the matter last night (January 16).
In a lengthy Facebook post, Abang Lorry explained the situation chronologically and said that Arissa has asked for the lorry to be at her house on January 6, with the agreed quotation – RM250 for a 1-tonne lorry.
According to the screenshots of the conversation provided, Arissa also asked for the quotation of a 2-tonne lorry, just in case she needed more capacity.
Regardless, she eventually decided to opt for the 1-tonne lorry instead as a lot of her belongings have been sold. On the day of moving itself, after showing the vendors the items that have to be placed into the lorry, Arissa was told that she had to upgrade the capacity.
“She had a King sized mattress and a 6-feet vanity mirror. Anything that exceeds 5 feet cannot fit into a 1-tonne lorry,” Abang Lorry said.
Previously, Arissa said that it was a 5-tonne lorry that reached her doorstep. However, Abang Lorry claimed that it was a 3-tonne lorry instead, and they quoted Arissa a price of RM350 if she agreed to upgrade. However, if she wanted to use the entire capacity of the 3-tonne lorry, she would be charged RM500, which Arissa didn’t agree.
“The customer was dissatisfied. She got enraged and told us that she had moved her items with a 1-tonne lorry previously,” Abang Lorry added.
After receiving a call from Arissa, Abang Lorry agreed to cancel the trip before asking the vendors to unload all of her belongings, and to leave the scene.
“We believe that we were reasonable enough to cancel her trip upon her request without charging her any cancellation fee. She was scolding the vendors.”
Abang Lorry also said that the uploaded image on her Facebook shows only part of Arissa’s belongings that have been placed into the lorry. They also revealed that a police report has been lodged last night.
“We’ve received so many phone calls and threats, as well as people calling us scammers after the post was circulated.”
Once again, WORLD OF BUZZ spoke to Arissa, who is aware of the company’s response, and she told us that Abang Lorry is twisting the story and isn’t being entirely honest.
“They said I was scolding the driver, but I did not. The driver was the one who scolded me.”
Arissa also said that the screenshot of the conversation shared by Abang Lorry is not complete. When asked about the complete screenshots, Arissa told WORLD OF BUZZ that she had deleted the WhatsApp conversation as she did not expect things would go this far.
Additionally, Arissa told WORLD OF BUZZ that the admin and the driver tried to contact her a few times last night, but she ignored the calls.
In the Facebook post, Abang Lorry also said that they have to face challenges on a daily basis, which include customers who don’t understand their job scopes. Regardless, they assured that they will improve their flaws for a better service in the future.
