The viral couple in JB recently made headlines after they were caught behaving indecently in a car at an empty parking space. The pair was brought to the Johor Bahru Court yesterday (April 7) for a detainment application following the arrest made by PDRM.

In the latest update from the police, it is revealed that the 22-year-old man and the girl, who is only 17 years old have been released on bail by the police yesterday. However, the police will still proceed with further investigation into the couple, as reported by China Press.

In another report by Sin Chew, the police said that once they have completed the investigation, they will hand the matter over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions.

On the same night, MUDA released a statement and said that it was unethical to put the minor in handcuffs and have them “paraded.”  In response to that, PDRM in Johor released a statement this morning (April 8) and debunked the report.

“The reports about parading the couple who were brought to the court is untrue.”

In its statement, the police also assured that the pair went through the same due process of law with other suspects of different cases who were brought to the court in a similar vehicle.

“We have never arranged for any photographers to be at the scene for photo ops. We’ll also investigate the matter thoroughly to find out if there is any case of violating the procedures,” the Chief of Police for Seri Aman district said.
