Malaysians everywhere were saddened at the news of a 13-year-old boy who was living in the streets due to the death of his mother and his stepfather neglecting him.

The boy had spoken of how he had taught himself how to read and mathematics, and carried himself better than most his age.

Now, it turns out that the boy is actually a runaway!

Mohd Fadli Salleh, who posted the original status regarding the neglected boy took to his Facebook profile to provide an update regarding the issue.

Latest info tentang anak ini. Plot twist dah.Okey, aku tak boleh cerita panjang lebar kali ini. Banyak hati perlu aku…

Fadli wrote, “The latest information about the boy. There’s a plot twist now! I can’t say much and there’s a lot that I can’t disclose to the public. Basically, the boy has a birth mother and a family. It’s just that he ran away from home. My posting that went viral helped his family identify and find him. Alhamdulillah.”

His family had apparently been looking for the boy for 3 days and has now been reunited with his mother.

Fadli also thanked the Welfare Department as well as Federal Islamic Council for their assistance throughout the incident.

“And to the friends and brothers who are still looking from cybercafes to back alleyways, you can stop your search. He’s in good hands now,” he added.

Even though the boy lied about his situation, it’s good to know that he’s now back in the loving hands of his mother and family.

And to all kids out there, no matter what argument or fight you had with your loved ones, it can be resolved through conversation. If you are being abused in anyway, seek help from someone you trust.

But if you have a loving family, running away from home should never be an option.
