Two Men Found Burned in Fatal Proton Saga Crash in Penang

Just yesterday morning, two individuals who died in an accident were confirmed to be men traveling in a Proton Saga BLM along Jalan Permatang Baru, Sungai Lokan.

According to Sinar Harian, Assistant Director of the Fire and Rescue Operations Division of the Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), John Sagun Francis, said the department received an emergency call at 7:09 AM, after which a team from the Butterworth Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene.

“The identities of both men have not yet been determined,” he said.

John Sagun added that firefighters carried out extinguishing and overhaul operations to ensure the area was safe from further risks.

Both victims were confirmed dead by medical personnel before their bodies were sent to Kepala Batas Hospital for post-mortem examination.

“The operation was fully completed at 10:55 AM, and the case has been handed over to the Fire Investigation Officer (FIO) team for further investigation,” he added.

Upon arrival at 7:21 AM, the team found a car on fire, with approximately 80% of it destroyed.

“There were two victims, believed to be men, found completely burned inside the vehicle,” he said.
