Former Prime Minister and former chairman of Pejuang, Tun Dr Mahathir has dubbed GE15 the “most corrupted election”.

According to Tun M, this is because every candidate who won gave bribes to voters openly, and many people witnessed the bribes being handed over just before the voters cast their ballots.

“No attempts to hide, no actions taken”

Tun M also said that there were little to zero efforts in hiding the acts of bribery, and he’s sure that the authorities, including the anti-corruption department and the police, have seen the acts.

“To date, no one has been arrested. Bribing the voters has become the norm”, Tun M said.

The former PM also claimed that there were thousands of workers and volunteers who were paid.

“Perhaps each party would spend RM100 million. Many said it was more. A single candidate is known to spend as much RM 25 million.”

Regardless of the amount, Tun M said that the question that matters the most is – Where did that money come from?

While some of them may be sourced from donations, he said that the money for government parties must come from the government, which should’ve been investigated especially when there is no acceptable explanation given.

Tun M went on and talked about the election and investigation process until he came to a conclusion – GE15 was the most corrupt election of all time.

Keputusan

“Every candidate who won offered big bribes and spent hundreds of millions in their campaigns.”

This has resulted in the victory of corrupted candidates and parties, which led to the formation of a corrupt government in Malaysia that will only burden many Malaysians.

“Already Malaysians, including Malays are migrating to foreign countries,” he added.

At the end of his tweet, which you can refer to below, Tun M highlighted that many good people in Malaysia are not voting, and for the country to be successful, the good people need to come out and vote again.

Tun M’s tweet, which was posted last night (January 25), did not sit well with many Malaysians. Many are not happy with his accusations and some even called him a sore loser.

“Are you saying this because you’ve lost all chairs?”

“If you’re really clean during your 24 years of tenure, corruption would’ve been long gone and not as bad as what we’re seeing. But the people who fought for nepotism and cronyism were thrown into jail.”

“Really? But I did not receive any incentive from Fahmi Fadzil (Minister of Communication and Digital).”

“Wow, what an accusation. I didn’t receive any bribes from anyone. I personally cast my ballot paper in London, and now I’m being accused of corruption. I’ll sue you!”

Do you think Tun M is merely speaking the truth, or is he making a bold assumption?
