Citizens without smartphones will soon be able to check in to premises with a new token system!
Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said that the Ministry of Technology, Science and Innovation (MOSTI) is developing a token system that will be given for free to those who do not have a smartphone, to enable them to ‘check in’ at premises.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, Khairy said the token will be received by anyone who does not have a smartphone, such as senior citizens or those from the B40 group.
“The token uses ‘bluetooth proximity technology’,” he said.
This comes after Sandakan MP Vivian Wong Shir Yee asked Khairy about those who cannot ‘check in’ through MySejahtera because they do not have smartphones such as senior citizens and the B40 community.
Khairy added that MySejahtera also allows a person to ‘check in’ together with their dependents to enter any premises.
“They can still write in the log book or carry vaccination cards manually,” he explained.
