“Some girls don’t ask for castles. The shoulder is enough.”
Facebook user Socio Jukebox’s caption alongside a photo of a woman resting her head on a man’s shoulder at the back of a moving truck went viral after netizens were touched with the sweet image. The caption highlighted how money doesn’t necessarily buy happiness, and that even when you’re poor, a loving family is all you need to be happy.
It seems like not every girl’s dream consists of being swept off their feet by a prince to live in a castle. However, others seemed like they had their hearts set on criticizing the man instead – eventhough it was meant to be a heartwarming post.
One Facebook netizen had the opinion that the man wasn’t doing enough to provide for his wife. He even went as far as calling the man in the photo a “loser“ trying to hide his “disability” because he can’t do “something special” for his supposed partner:
Yikes. But of course, every salty Internet troll is met by model netizens that come to the defense of those unspoken, even if no one actually knows the whole story. A cybercitizen retorted to the comment with:
“Sadly unlike you, everybody isn’t born with a golden spoon and daddy’s golden d*** in his mouth. Maybe the man in the picture couldn’t even afford this but still managed to get his family in that trunk. Try to be happy for the people below you, you’ll find peace that way.”
And of course there was the group of reasonable netizens who had something to say about all the busybodies of the Internet. Don’t make drama la. Just let them be.
Arguments aside, let’s all just admire the sweet photo as it is without making it another negative post! Our hearts are still melting over it. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
