He added that he has documented proof that he holds a “strong, formidable” majority of support from the MPs to form a new government. The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong who is currently still undergoing treatment at IJN has apparently agreed to accept but their meeting had to be postponed due to his health circumstances.

During the Q&A session with media representatives, Anwar said that further details of what is to happen will be given once there is an audience with the King.

“I urge the rakyat to be patient and pray for the well-being of Agong. I will fulfil my promise to make Malaysia a country of peace. We need a strong, stable government to run this country.”

Anwar also stated that his support base is made up by a Malay majority at large. “I wish to state here that the majority of MPs supporting me are Malay and Muslim.” It was also said that the Deputy Prime Minister will not be Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Anwar’s wife.
