Recently, a video of Thai Grammy actor and TV host Acharanat “Nott” Ariyaritwikol, 28, went viral.
Apparently, a motorcyclist had knocked into his car and tried to run away. The motorcyclist, by the name of Kittisak Singto, 25, was stopped a while later.
In a state of anger and unclear thinking, Nott grabbed Kittisak by the collar and mercilessly dragged him across the road towards his yellow Mini Cooper. Throughout the 1 minute video, Nott never once let go of the poor motorcyclist’s collar.
The actor can be seen sending 3 brutal punches Kittisak and even forcing him to kowtow to his car. It may seem like Nott might have gone through a huge accident to behave this way. However, the damage was… only a broken taillight.
According to Bangkok Coconuts, Nott was screaming about the costs of fixing the car and how he should apologize to the Mini Cooper.
“Where are you going?! You hit and ran! How much does this [damage] cost? Do not hit and run. Understand? Kowtow to my car!”
After the incident, both men went to the police station where Kittisak filed a report against Nott for the physical assault. According to the law, the actor would face 3 years in jail and/or a maximum fine of THB 6,000 (RM 7,200).
To defend himself, Nott told the police that he was still a ‘good boy’ and that he was just having a moment of anger.
“He didn’t come to check on my car. What would you do then if it was you? I was in the heat of the moment. I didn’t have time to think of a polite word…like ‘say sorry to my car’.”
Due to his appalling actions recorded in said video, he was fired from all his acting and TV jobs.
Currently, both the accident and the assault are being investigated.
Nott had rose to fame after being nominated as CLEO’s magazine’s 50 most eligible bachelors in 2009. After that nomination, he was offered many acting jobs. He has been in music videos, movies, drama series, and over 20 TV shows.
Also, it seems that earlier this year, Nott was awarded by the Thai government as a good example for Thai citizens. But after the video went viral, netizens are demanding that the title be removed.
In fact, now Nott has been made into a big joke. The tagline “krab rod” (Translation: Kowtow to my car) has been made into a popular hashtag on Twitter. Not only that, netizens are poking fun at Nott by making memes out of him and his car.
After this incident came to light, GMM TV decided to cancel their contract with Nott and even made a public statement about it.
I guess now he has to kowtow to everyone else, eh.
