As Malaysians, we rarely see guns in public. But, on the off chance that we do, we’d panic.
Chaos broke out in Terengganu recently, after a man who was believed to be on drugs, waved a fake gun around while in traffic.
The MYNEWSHUB Twitter page showcased video footage of the incident.
They wrote, “The action of a motorcyclist suddenly pointing a fake gun at a traffic intersection near Bukit Besar, Kuala Terengganu, has recently caused anger among the public. Through a video clip that went viral on Wednesday (July 17), the man was seen holding a fake gun and pointing it around in public.”
In the video showcased, the man could be seen on a motorcycle as he pulled out the fake gun and waved it around for everyone to see.
While most fake guns have an orange tip to indicate that it is fake, this one in particular did not have the orange tip, hence, making it look like it could be real.
Thankfully, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) managed to track down and detain the man, who tested positive for methamphetamines.
“The 26-year-old man’s actions are believed to be to order other vehicles on the opposite lane to stop so that he can speed up his motorcycle towards Kampung Dusun Melintang,” Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd said.
