What happens when you leave kids alone? Ranging from a mess you can laugh about, to life-threatening disasters, this Terengganu father could hear his wallet cry when he saw the mess created by his two children.

Ariff Ermizie shared his funny tragedy where he left his kids alone for 10 minutes, and had to dash to the living room to see what happened when all the laughter and noise disappeared all of a sudden. To his shock, he found his dark grey couch completely white in colour as it’s covered in milk powder, and the entire tin of powder had only just been opened the day before.

“It was my fault for leaving the kids unattended for those 10 minutes. The entire tin of milk powder had gone to waste as it was just opened yesterday. The kids were practically swimming in it!”

According to mStar, the 30-year-old dad found out that his mischievous kids managed to reach the tin of milk powder on a kitchen rack, high enough to keep the kids from reaching. It turns out that his eldest, a 5 year old, took a dining chair and climbed it to get a hold of the tin.

Although it was a terrible mess all over the couch and rug, he managed to keep his cool and went on with his work that night after leaving the kids at the baby sitter. He also said that his wife had gone to Kuala Lumpur to attend a course for two days, and he had been taking care of their children while he was at home.

He brought the incident to Facebook, asking for advice on ways to get rid of the mess because the couch cover isn’t detachable. Ariff had already washed and vacuumed the couch, but he couldn’t reach the part deep inside the cushion, so he had to call couch cleaners to save the day.

While many of us thought he would’ve gotten angry upon seeing the disaster before his eyes, Ariff said that he wasn’t mad because his kids were still young. Instead, he and his wife laughed it off as they tried to clean the sticky situation.

Netizens were amused by this incident, while many gave their opinions on how to clean the couch, others told Ariff that leaving the kids unattended for 10 minutes was too long.

We’re glad the kids are fine, but hopefully, this incident will serve as a reminder for parents to never leave their kids unattended.
