Hari Raya is around the corner and you know what that means – the PLUS highway will be filled with cars once again! Balik kampung ma.

And one of the major causes of traffic jam on the highway during such festivities is the jam before passing any plaza tolls, Siakap Keli reported.

Therefore, PLUS Malaysia Berhad has announced that ALL 134 top-up lanes (tambah nilai) will be CLOSED between June 22 to July 2, 2017.

According to them in the statement, the vehicles lining up to top up their Touch ‘n Go cards are the main cause of traffic jams at toll booths.

“PLUS expects the traffic on PLUS highway to increase by 21 per cent during this Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, as compared to normal days.

“PLUS would like to remind everyone to ensure that their PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go cards contain sufficient balance.”

You can easily top up your card at thousands of locations around Malaysia such as at the ATM, convenience stores, petrol stations and even at certain R&Rs throughout PLUS highway.

Even PLUS customer service offices throughout the country have got top-up services.

They are usually located right after certain plaza tolls. These offices operate from 7am to 10pm, including the weekends and even on public holidays.

In other words, you don’t have to solely rely on the top-up lanes on the highway.

So, make sure you have enough money in your PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go cards during the festive season so that we can all have smoother traffic!

And remember… do not stop and stare should there be any road accidents. Just drive along if you’re not going to help.
