Evergreen strikes once again! During the end of the year 2022, they gave out to their employees up to 52 months of bonus!

And if that’s not enough, they are giving out a mid-year bonus as well, albeit not as much as the year-end one.

It was reported by Taiwan News that every employee got about 10-11 months of pay for their bonus. On 31 May, the employees saw the bonus transaction in their bank accounts.

Evergreen Marine has approximately 3,100 employees and their average monthly salary is NT$60,000 (RM8,951) so on average, one employee received about NT$613,000 (RM91,455).

Central News Agency reported that the previous year was a good year for the logistics company as they saw a 28.17% increase in revenue.

Other than that, another Taiwanese shipping company, Yang Ming Marine Transport, also gave out a mid-year bonus to their employees.

Straits Times reports that employees of Yang Ming will be receiving up to 30 months of mid-year bonuses and they will be receiving it the next payday.

In comparison, most of them received 12 months of pay for their year-end bonus last year.

Yang Ming Marine told Bloomberg that 1% of the revenue is shared with the workers and this time, in the case of the mid-year bonus, the 1% is equal to NT$2.3 billion (RM343,144,283).

Well, this much money certainly sounds wonderful. We’re sure the employees are happy about that as well.
