Going to the wet market to buy fish will never be the same again, at least for the people in Changhua, Taiwan. On 6 November, Shanghaiist posted about a Facebook user who visited the wet market there. But instead of finding a dead fish, he found the most beautiful mermaid. He uploaded her picture and said,
“Ma, in the future, I will always help you buy fish.”

Well, it was actually 26-year-old Liu Pengpeng, a Taiwanese model who decided to spend time helping her mum who runs a fish stall there.

After finding out that her pictures had gone viral, Liu posted on her Facebook, thanking those who supported her. She also shared that she will be there again on Thursday morning which prompted a reply saying that, “The market is going to burst.”

True enough, the crowd flocked to the fish stall, some were there to buy fish while others were mesmerized by her ability to clean and sell fish. The local news even covered the event.
Liu’s mother explained that her daughter is a very devoted child. She would come and help her whenever she has time because she’s worried that her mum is too tired from managing the stall alone.
So maybe if you decide to visit Taiwan in the future, do drop by Changhua wet market and if you are lucky, you might be able to witness the hottest filial fishmonger in the country.
