Besides that, Syabas has also announced that they weren’t able to tell when the water supply will be restored after yesterday’s cut — although there are reports of it already being restored.

The water cut affected 1,133 areas and 1,166,842 consumers in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Kuala Langat.

ICYMI, Sungai Selangor was reported to have experienced odour pollution, and a code red emergency was activated to indicate the seriousness of this matter.

According to Abdul Raof Ahmah, the customer relationship and communication department head of Syabas says:

“The investigations showed that the high level of odour originated from Sungai Liam, Batang Kali, and Hulu Selangor. Relevant enforcement agencies will make a public announcement with regards to the pollution from the area.”

As of today (20 July), Syabas has already resolved the water disruption at Phase 1, 2, and 3 of the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant and Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant.

Although it sounds like good news, they also mentioned that they are still trying to raise and stabilise the reservoir levels and pressure in the distribution system. Thus, the water restoration process is being done in stages.

We hope this whole water cut issue will be over ASAP! ?
