Taking to TikTok, this lady shared a saddening video that would trigger any car guy after he had to part with his beloved vehicle.
Here is a video of this sad breakup as posted by @ntshatan.
“My husband had to let go of his car today,” she shared.
“It breaks my heart to see him cry. But this is the reality of owning a car in Singapore.”
For those of you who are not familiar with Singapore’s car ownership laws, after 10 years, cars in Singapore cannot be driven unless their COE is renewed.
Taking to the comments section, netizens had this to say.
“I can feel the bro’s pain. I had to let go of my 2004 Acura TSX and I cried for at least a few days because it was my first car that I bought with my money.”
“In SG, you can’t keep your car for more than 10 years. You can do so, but you have to pay SGD$100k for a pink slip and other taxes too,” said a user.
Another commented, “We can’t sell it overseas, because Singapore has banned old cars from being exported overseas.”
What a waste!
