Fuel prices in Singapore have increased exponentially recently, with some fuel range even breaching the SGD4 or approximately RM12.78 per litre for the first time ever. Many factors attributed to such a significant rise, including the imminent ban on Russian oil as well as the increased demand as world economies began to fully recover.
As reported by The Straits Times, popular fuel prices tracker ‘Fuel Kaki’ set up the country’s Consumer Association shows that a litre of diesel is now between SGD3 (RM9.58) and SGD3.08 (RM9.84), which is up from SGD3 (RM9.58) to SGD3.05 (RM9.74) per litre just a fortnight ago.
As for petrol, a litre of RON92 is now between SGD3.26 (RM10.41) and SGD3.28 (RM10.48). Previously RON92 in Singapore was between SGD3.13 (RM10) to SGD3.20 (RM10.22) per litre.
RON95 also saw in increase from SGD3.16 (RM10.09) to SGD3.25 (RM10.38) previously to SGD3.26 (RM10.41) to SGD3.33 (10.64) per litre currently. However, the most notable one has got to be RON98, whereby it is the first fuel range to breach the SGD4 (RM12.78) per litre mark in Singapore.
Previously, RON98 is priced between SGD3.73 (RM11.91) and SGD3.82 (RM12.20), but now it is priced between SGD3.86 (RM12.33) and SGD4.04 (RM12.90) per litre.
