The trial for Ebit Lew’s sexual harassment case continues and this time, the 7th witness of the case had a piece of information to share in the court.
PDRM’s Video & Audio Analyst, Assistant Superintendent Latifah Abdul Aziz revealed that porn websites were found in the browser history of Lew’s phone which he had analysed. The websites were visited via the Google application on Lew’s phone, and the analysis of the results has been downloaded into a DVD-R for further investigations.
“Based on the screenshots that I have, there were traces of websites with and without pornographic elements,” Latifah said during examination-in-chief by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nor Azizah Mohamad.
According to a detailed report by BERNAMA, to confirm her findings, Latifah said she accessed some of the websites and had indeed found them to be pornographic and obscene in nature.
Not only that but according to the analyst, Lew also went on Wikipedia to look further into sexual harassment, including,
- Sexual harassment laws in Malaysia
- Punishment for sexual offences
- Jailed for sexual jokes
Unanswered voice calls from another phone
Latifah had a lot to tell during the trial that took place yesterday (21 June) in the Magistrate’s Court, and based on another phone that she had analysed, it contained 219 screenshots of Whatsapp conversations, starting from March 2021.
1 of the screenshots showed that there was an unanswered voice call sent from the sender made at 6.10 pm. The date, however, was not mentioned. There were also unanswered calls dated March 15 and 16, 2021.
Another screenshot dated March 17 showed an attempt to resend a message by the sender but to no avail. The message failed to deliver eventually.
Ebit Lew was absent during the trial yesterday as he is currently performing Hajj in Mecca, which was permitted by the Court. The preacher is facing 11 charges of sexual harassment – sending obscene pictures and words to the victim whom Ebit also insulted her modesty.
If found guilty, Ebit may be sentenced to up to 5 years of prison with a fine, which is stated under Section 509 Penal Code.
The trial continues today (22 June) and stay tuned for more updates!
