Malaysian lawyer, Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar is ready to provide legal services to the parents of the deceased frozen infant.

Datuk Ahmad announced the matter via a TikTok live on Wednesday night (December 11) and slammed the hospital’s decision to “detain” the remains of the deceased infant for more than 2 weeks.

“The infant was dead and you still wanted to keep it. What gave you the right to do so?”

Last night (December 12), Datuk Ahmad met the grieving father of the infant, and they had a lot to say during a Facebook live session.

“This is a disrespect against humanity!”

In the live Facebook video, Datuk Ahmad confirmed that he had personally witnessed the marriage certificate of the couple, whom the hospital claimed to be unmarried.

“I’ve checked with the Religious Department in Perlis. The marriage certificate is valid.”

The lawyer also confirmed that legal action is being taken against the defamation made towards the couple, and they have identified those who spread the lies on TikTok.

“We’ll give them 3 hours to remove the videos,” Datuk Ahmad said.

He also criticised the hospital’s decision to keep the remains of the infant frozen, citing it as a form of disrespect towards humanity, and a police report has been lodged against the hospital for the matter.

He said the question that arose was whether a hospital was allowed to store a body for 16 days and use the body as collateral. However, they will have to check with the police and the Ministry of Health (MoH) about the matter.

“Is there justification for the corpse being used as collateral? That’s the issue,” Datuk Ahmad said.

In the meantime, the 22-year-old father, Safwan Roshdy said he was heartbroken to see the insults towards him online, and said he will not hesitate to take legal action against those who slander him.
