Taking place at a Nasi Kandar restaurant in Taman Sepadu Jaya, Seberang Perai, a Myanmar worker was slashed and killed by a group of four locals, sparking deep concerns about violence against migrant workers.

In a video shared on social media, the men can be seen chasing down the victim before another showed what happened in the aftermath.

Viewer discretion is advised.

According to the Seberang Perai Utara Chief of Police ACP Anuar Abdul Rahmah, the incident took place circa 3:20 am, when the victim was attacked by four men carrying machetes.

The victim tried to run away but was slashed multiple times in the head, arms, and body before succumbing to his injuries.

The victim’s body is currently at the Kepala Batas Hospital, and the police are on the hunt for the suspects who ran off in a dark-coloured vehicle.

The case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

We would like to urge members of the public to not come to their own conclusions on the matter and allow justice to be served.
