We’ve all heard of office pets, but have you ever heard of a mall pet? Well, you’re about to now.

Plaza Merdeka Shopping Centre is one of the primary malls in Kuching, Sarawak, containing a number of retailers from both international and local brands.

However, it seems as though the mall has decided to get itself a pet to roam around during operating hours to keep an eye on some of its goods and keep customers company.

Introducing, Hassan!

Roaming the halls of Plaza Merdeka, Hassan is a handsome short-haired feline with white fur and golden ears. Present on a daily basis, some of Hassan’s tasks include greeting mall visitors, walking around the mall to inspect each stall, as well as wandering nearby the receptionist area.

He even accepts back scratches and rubs from customers.

Hassan has his own name tag, which enlists his ownership by Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall, according to its TikTok page @plazamerdeka.

Absolutely obsessed with him, many Malaysians shared how eager they are to meet the kitty as soon as they can. Some of them include individuals who work in the mall itself.
