Police officers should be held to the highest standard as they are the ones who are enforcing the law in our country.

Yet, unfortunately, there are always officers who end up being bad eggs in the bunch.

The #UpdateInfo Twitter page recently showcased footage of a Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officer who was arguing with a road worker while in a shirtless and apparent drunken state in Air Itam, Penang.

What makes this worse is that the alleged drunken police officer took out a police vest from his car to show off to the road worker, possibly in an effort to intimidate the road worker.

The Timur Laut District Police Chief, ACP Razlam Bin AB Hamid has since confirmed that the man with the police vest is a police officer who is currently in the process of receiving disciplinary action.

“As a result of the review, the incident took place in Jalan Air Itam, Penang, and the individual showing the police vest in the video recording is a senior police officer who is currently in the process of departmental disciplinary action,” he said in a statement.

We genuinely hope that the Police Chief takes the appropriate action to prevent such incidences from happening again.
