Adeline Chang’s sister, Alice was recently caught kissing and sniffing bread dough at her previous workplace and for that, she was terminated with immediate effect.
Her unhygienic practice has caused uproar online, especially among customers of the outlet. DAP Youth Chief in Kepong, Jefferson Chia was also NOT happy about the matter, and he has since lodged a police report about the matter.
According to Jefferson, Alice’s unhygienic practice is a violation of the law, and he wants the police to take action against Alice for the matter.
“The police can take action against her under Section 13 of the Food Act 1983,” Jefferson remarked in his Xiao Hong Shu (RED) post.
The Kepong DAP Youth Chief also highlighted that Alice was well aware of her behaviour which was not only inappropriate but also disrupting the public order.
“What she did may not only affect the public’s trust in the F&B industry but may also cause panic. I’ve lodged a police report, so PDRM has the responsibility to investigate the matter and take action.”
Section 13 of the Food Act 1983
According to the Laws of Malaysia, Section 13 is divided into a few subsections, namely,
- Section 13 (Food containing substances injurious to health)
- Section 13A (Food unfit for human consumption)
- Section 13B (Adulterated food)
- Section 13C (Removal of food from food premises)
As per the explanation on the official website of Mah Weng Kwai & Associates, any person who prepares or sells any food that has in or upon it any substance which is poisonous, harmful, or otherwise injurious to health, commits an offence under the section.
Following the circulation of the matter, Alice was quick to point her fingers and put the blame on Auntie Anne’s Malaysia and said she was hired merely to boost the company’s engagement.
The company has since responded and said Alice is terminated and will not be hired at any of its outlets.
Do you think PDRM should take action against the ex-employee?
