A couple from Penang went missing last September in Bangkok, and the search for the couple has been ongoing since.
PDRM in Penang, however, confirmed that the couple, 23-year-old Yumi and 21-year-old Goh had returned home safely 4 months after their disappearance.
In a report by China Press, Northeast District Deputy Police Chief, Lee said that the case was officially closed after the police questioned the couple and completed the investigation. Lee also confirmed that their disappearance has nothing to do with the ongoing human trafficking and job scam syndicate in Cambodia.
Goh, however, is not willing to disclose what happened during his disappearance with his girlfriend.
According to his mother, Goh is temporarily staying with his girlfriend at her house.
“He did tell me he was arrested by the local police in Germany during the flight interchange. He was unharmed, but when I asked further, he remained silent. He has always kept things to himself,” Goh’s mother said.
Regardless, the woman said she was just glad to know that his son made it home safely, and now she can feel at ease.
Yumi, on the other hand, did not tell her family members about the Bangkok trip with her boyfriend and took her passport before leaving the house last September. Yumi had allegedly contacted a close friend and informed her that she lost her luggage and important documents in Spain. The close friend, who last spoke to Yumi on WeChat on September 7, claimed that Yumi’s boyfriend, Goh, also experienced the same fate.
Regardless of what happened during their disappearance, we genuinely hope the couple is doing well.
